Election Day Information for Displaced Residents

La Plata County Clerk Tiffany Lee is advising residents who are unable to vote because of evacuations, road closures, or other flood-related emergency conditions to contact the La Plata County Elections Office at 970-382-6296 or elections@lpcgov.org. The Clerk’s Office will work directly with affected residents to make appropriate arrangements for displaced voters.

Sign Up for La Plata County Emergency Alerts

The LPC Alerts emergency notification system is a public alert system used to notify residents about emergency situations in their area.  The system can send location-specific alerts, meaning that only those in affected areas receive notifications, allowing for more precise and relevant information.  This is especially useful for emergencies like wildfire, flood or hazardous weather that might impact only certain parts of the county.

City of Durango Damage Reporting

City staff continue to work throughout affected areas, primarily by cleaning debris from area roads. The city’s water and sewer treatment plants have not been affected and continue to function. Road assessments will continue as water levels fall. Residents can use the city’s “SeeClickFix” platform to report areas that need assistance by city staff.
