Air Service
The Durango/La Plata County airport, located 15 miles southeast of the City of
Durango and accessed via US Hwy 172, is a publicly owned commercial service and
general aviation facility, operated jointly by the City of Durango and La Plata
County. The 9,200 foot primary runway is lit and equipped with navigational aids,
can handle the majority of commercial-sized aircraft. Currently, United Express
offers 8 flights daily with service to Denver, U.S. Airways offers 2 flights daily
to Phoenix and Frontier Airlines offers 3 flights daily to Denver. Business and
recreational travelers also enjoy private aircraft and charter service at Durango/La

Bus Service
The Durango Bus Center provides inter city passenger, package deliver, and charter
service. Currently intercity service is provided by TNM&O, a private carrier that
serves as an “interline” to Greyhound Bus. TNM&O serves La Plata County from Durango
and San Juan County from Silverton. The services is a daily north-south route along

Public Transportation
The city of Durango offers a variety of options for public transportation through
Durango Transit-or the “T”-which operates a variety of small buses and trolleys
within the Durango municipal limits, including service to Downtown, Fort Lewis College,
west, and south Durango, and all buses are equipped with bike racks. The city also

Road Runner Transit is a service of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, operated by
the Southern Ute Community Action Program, and is based in Ignacio. Currently, there

Durango is served by motor carriers and delivery services from all geographic
